Define Demographics in Real Estate

Demographics: 

Demographics are the details about a group of people, like their age, income, or where they live. These details help real estate professionals, like agents and developers, as well as businesses, like chain stores, decide if a new location would be a good fit for them or their clients. It's like looking at a group of friends and figuring out what they have in common, so you can find a new friend who would fit in well or a place where they would like to hang out.

Example: 

For example, a real estate agent is trying to find a neighborhood where young families would want to buy homes, and a coffee shop company wants to open a new store. They both look at the demographics of an area and find that it has lots of families with kids, good schools, parks, and young professionals who usually buy coffee on their way to work. Based on this information, the agent decides it would be a good place to show homes to their clients, and the coffee shop company decides it would be a good location for their new store because the people living there have similar needs and preferences.
