Define CAM Fees in Real Estate

CAM Fees:

CAM fees, short for Common Area Maintenance fees, are charges that people pay when they rent a space in a shopping center or office building. These fees help cover the cost of keeping the shared spaces, like parking lots and hallways, clean and well-maintained.

Example:

For example, if you rented a store in a mall, you'd have to pay CAM fees to help take care of the mall's shared areas, like keeping the lights on in the hallways and having the floors cleaned.
