Define Ridge Board in Real Estate

Ridge Board: 

A ridge board is a horizontal board that runs along the top of the roof where two sloping sides meet. It's an important structural element that provides support for the roof and helps distribute the weight of the roof evenly.

Example: 

For example, in a gable roof (a roof with two sloping sides), the ridge board runs along the peak of the roof where the two sides meet. The rafters (the sloping beams that support the roof) attach to the ridge board at the top, and to the top plate of the walls at the bottom.
